Get what you need now.

I’m Kathy Ellis and together, with inspiring, talented, eager people like you, we get people to take action and grow their businesses. And by action we don’t mean... do that thing you know you should do but you don’t want to do it because you really don’t know how to do it and you’re not confident in doing it so you hate doing it and it makes your stomach hurt just thinking about doing it… kind of action. We mean, joyful, confident action.

You’re included in this because you’re here and you have questions and ideas and experiences. Those questions, ideas and experiences help us all learn to be better, happier, more successful. So thank you. Thank you for being here.

I’ve been in and around “marketing” for a long time. Like 20+ years. That’s hard to admit, but it’s a good thing because I’ve seen so many kinds of businesses, ideas, people, fears, excuses, etc. Heck, a lot of them are mine!

I created this business because of the absolute transformation that occurs in the lives of business people when they get clear about what they’re doing. When they have a system. When their business becomes predictable, easy, fun... and more profitable.

Even with all the new tools available today, the process of starting and growing a business is exactly the same today as it was 100 years ago.

It’s a simple and basic concept that’s at the core of every single business:

  • Find something you love to do, something that makes you smile, something you are eager to talk about and learn about and get better at doing.
  • Identify who you want as a client and how you can help. Or, if you’re brand new to all of it, figure out what’s needed and then determine who needs it.
  • Let them know you exist and can help.
  • Help them / keep improving your expertise.
  • Stay in touch and keep helping them and their friends, family, co-workers.
  • Create advocates, fans, family-like relationships with them.
  • Keep letting others know you exist and can help – continue building your prospect and client lists/relationships.

While it’s simple and basic, it isn’t all that easy. Especially if you’re on your own.

There are so many rabbit holes out there. I know because I’ve been down most of them. Should I do this? Should I do that? What about how they’re doing it? Is it new, right, better than what I’m going to do? Should I use that blueprint or this one? Should I have a Facebook account, a blog, a website, a brochure? Should I be tweeting and if so, what should I tweet? What about tradeshows and networking? What about Reddit? Do I need an eBook and newsletter or video? Should I post pictures on Instagram and Pinterest? Should I read this or that book / blog / post / email about copywriting and great headlines? Should I spend the ink to print out that PDF? I could go on and on... Right?

Our goal here is to break this all down so that it makes sense …and… that it’s doable. We call it a “bite-sized bootcamp.”

I’d say the number one reason people don’t grow or even start their own business is because they simply don’t know what to do or they’re so overwhelmed by what to do it stops them dead in their tracks. I know. I’ve been there many times.

Then they give it a big ole ugly label like “fear” and that makes them, well, afraid. And that’s the giant fire hose that snuffs out the flame that lit up your world for a short time. So you curl up in a ball and hide under the covers. You keep doing what you’ve always done. Days, weeks, months go by. You think you’re disappearing. It’s harder and harder to keep doing what you’ve been doing. You’re cranky. You’re tired. You’re sick.

But the thing about those flames is they never really go out. That’s why you get an idea now and then to do something. And so you start out again.

But, what if this time it was different? What if the information and the path was clear and easy to understand and apply? What if you started again and made progress. And more progress. And more and more progress. And then the day came.

The scales tipped.

You’re on the other side.

Things are working and working amazingly well. The ease, the flow, the joy, the money, the clients, the projects. They’re all perfect. They’re all flowing. It’s now so, so easy. You’re confident. You’re happy. You’re making a huge difference in the lives of your clients. You’re in demand. You’re proud of yourself. You feel and live your accomplishments and successes.
